Las Vegas–Sin City–is largely known as a metropolis for grown-ups. Fear not, however: There are plenty of activities and attractions here perfect for a younger crowd–even as the temperatures rise. Here are just five places to visit that all members of the family can enjoy during the scorching summer season.
1.) Experience New Heights on the High Roller
The newest attraction in Las Vegas and the tallest ferris wheel in the world, the High Roller offers a 30 minute ride and panoramic views of the city in air-conditioned gondolas. Climbing to heights of 550 feet, adults and children alike will get a new perspective on this bustling city and the mountains that surround it.
2.) Springs Preserve

Springs Preserve is the perfect place for the whole family to visit. Botanical gardens, animal feedings, playgrounds, ice cream festivals, and cooking classes are just some of the fun activities the kids will love. It was even named “Best Place to Take the Kids in Southern Nevada” by Nevada Magazine!
3.) Downtown Container Park

Enjoy the true beauty of downtown Las Vegas at Container Park. Aside from shopping and dining, there are regular events incorporating children’s programming, live musical performances, outdoor fitness classes, variety acts, and more. And let’s not forget the interactive play area treehouse, which includes a 33-foot-tall slide and NEOS play system. (Adults, you can get it on the fun, too!)
4.) Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
If white lions, white tigers, panthers, leopards, and dolphins sound wonderful to you, spend some time at the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage. Some of their activities include painting and yoga with dolphins. You can also work with a trainer for the day to learn about caring for, playing with, and training dolphins!
5.) Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix
The Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix offers four tracks for adrenaline-pumping go-kart racing, rides, and arcade games for kids and parents alike to enjoy. Dine in their restaurant on freshly baked pizza, wings, tenders, sandwiches, and more.
6.) Town Square Park
Grown-ups love Town Square–and why wouldn’t they? With countless restaurants, shops, and entertainment opportunities, you’ll never run out of things to do. The Children’s Park is icing on the cake. The treehouse with 42-foot-tall live oak tree, rock wall, slides, fort, pop-jet fountain, princess tower playhouse, merry-go-round, and theatre will keep them entertained for hours.
When you’re planning your family trip to Las Vegas this summer venture to any of these six places to keep cool and have some fun. You might also want to consider taking the family on a helicopter trip to the Gand Canyon. It’s a quick day trip to and from Las Vegas and an adventure of a lifetime.
